What is your vision for Children’s Ministry?”
Parents who are on fire for God.
Parents who are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy.
Parents who do the work of raising their kids in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Parents who read their Bible and still weep over the words.
Parents who live with integrity.
My answer is Parents.
But that didn’t answer your question did it?
Because you wanted to know what “the church” is supposed to do. (Excerpt taken from
Now, don’t get me wrong, I will be the first to tell you that Children’s Ministry is extremely important. I can look back and tell you very important lessons that I learned in Vacation Bible School and Sunday School as a child. I remember doing Bible drills and getting prizes for learning all the books of the Bible. I can even tell you the
moment that I rededicated my life to God was during a very powerful worship time at a youth retreat.
However, seeing my mother go through tough times growing up, yet still praising God through the storms, taught me that I would never be forsaken. Watching her stand up for what was biblically sound, knowing it would not be the popular route to take, taught me that living a life for Christ would not be easy, but it would be worth it. And seeing her do the right thing when she could’ve taken the easy way out, with no one any the wiser, taught me Biblical integrity.
Times are especially crazy right now. Often, we are not able to meet for group Bible activities. I can send messages regularly, mail out crafts and lessons, and plan for the “new normal” until the cows come home; but it is not the same as gathering together as friends, sharing hugs and laughter, and studying God’s Word together. So parents, I beg of you to take some extra time to make sure your children are being spiritually fed. Read the Bible with them. Make sure they see YOU reading your Bible. Talk about the world today and make sure they know that God is still the same…yesterday, today, and tomorrow…no matter what the world tries to teach them.
Much Love to You All!
