Christmas Shoe Boxes for Honduras
Christmas shoe boxes are in and ready to be picked up and filled for the coming
Christmas season.  They are located on the counter in the Fellowship Hall with a letter giving specific instructions on what to place in each box, how to fill out the manifest form on the box and the return deadline.  Please read the instructions carefully and note NO candy or gum is to be placed in the boxes.  Cost to ship each box is $4.00 and should be placed in an envelope and attached to the OUTSIDE of the box.  If writing a check please make it out to Livingston Chapel United Methodist Church.  If you are filling multiple boxes one check can be made out to cover shipping.  Boxes must be returned by Monday, September 30 in order to ship from the UMCOR warehouse in time.  Thank you for your support.  If you have any questions see Lori or Kay.

Sumatanga Action Team Updates
In April of this year the Sumatanga Board of Trustees requested the Bishop appoint an Action Team to look at ways we can strengthen this vital ministry for the present and future.  Effective August 1, the team employed Daphne Orr as Interim Executive Director.  The team has  also scheduled meeting with an open invitation to all
constituents and supporters to share their ideas and recommendations for the long-term direction of the camp.  The following dates have currently been set: 

August 26 at 6 p.m. - Vestavia Hills UMC
August 28 at 10 a.m. - Southeast District Office, Alexander City

The team is working to schedule other sessions with varying dates and times to accommodate clergy and laity.   Please be in prayer for our Camp Sumatanga ministry
